Smartgraphs

SmartGraphs is a project at the Concord Consortium and funded by the National Science Foundation. It studies the educational value of “SmartGraphs,” digital objects that “know” about themselves and that provide scaffolding to students to help them learn about graphs and the concepts conveyed in graphs. The project plans to create digital SmartGraphs that can be authored or customized by teachers and accept inputs from students’ responses, sketches, functions, models, and probes.

SCY-SE

SCY Scenario Editor (SCY-SE) is a plugin for the FreeStyler-Tool (look at http://www.collide.info) which allows designers to model abstract scenarios which represents Learning Process Models.
It was developed to match the requirements of the SCY project (http://www.scy-net.eu).

Beneath the modelling this tool provide a similarity search.

Embedded Phenomena

‘Embedded phenomena’ is a learning technology framework in which simulated scientific phenomena are mapped onto the physical space of classrooms. Students monitor and control the local state of the simulation through distributed media positioned around the room, gathering and aggregating evidence to solve problems or answer questions related to those phenomena. Embedded phenomena are persistent, running continuously over weeks and months, creating information channels that are temporally and physically interleaved with, but asynchronous with respect to, the regular flow of instruction.
